Fresco Painting Project

Fr.Theodore Fr.Theodore Jurewicz of the parish of the Nativity of Christ in Erie, PA has been selected as our icongrapher for the church frescos at the parish meeting. Fr. Theodore was a student of Archimandrite Cyprian of blessed memory, the ever-memorable iconographer of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville. Fr. Theodore has been painting throughout the country for many years and now he is one of the most profound iconographers in America.


Fr. Theodore arrived to our parish to start the work on frescos soon after Pascha 2009. We had a Moleben for the project following the Liturgy on St. Thomas Sunday. As of March 2010 the Altar, the Dome and the 40 medallion frescos in four arches are nearly completed. Plans for the rest of the church are being discussed. If you want any specific icon/saint to be painted it is time to speak up. If you are interested in donating towards one or more of the specific frescos, please contact Tasia Fedorov at 518-459-1253 after 6 pm or e-mail.

Thanks to generous donations of many we were able to pay for all of the completed frescos. Funds are being collected to pay for the frescos for the remaining part of the church.
